The Blonde Naso Tang is a spectacular large surgeonfish prized for its elegant body shape, bold facial markings and beautiful yellow dorsal fin. As it matures, its coloration becomes increasingly impressive, with a dark grey-to-black body contrasted by bright yellow, orange, blue and black accents.

Juvenile Blonde Nasos are attractive fish, but mature specimens are truly impressive. Adults can develop beautiful streamers extending from the tail, with males generally developing longer and more pronounced streamers as they mature.

Blonde Naso Tangs are generally peaceful compared with many other large tang species and can make excellent inhabitants for spacious reef aquariums. They are active swimmers that require substantial open swimming room and should be provided with a large, well-established aquarium.

They are considered reef safe and typically leave corals and ornamental invertebrates alone. Although usually peaceful, appropriate care should still be taken when keeping multiple large surgeonfish together.

Blonde Naso Tangs are primarily herbivorous and should receive marine algae and nori regularly, supplemented with spirulina-based foods and a varied selection of high-quality frozen and prepared marine foods. Frequent feeding and excellent nutrition are especially important for maintaining their body weight and coloration.
