Yellow scopas tang
The Scopas Tang is a hardy, active, and algae-grazing surgeonfish that makes an excellent addition to established marine aquariums. Its body ranges from rich chocolate brown to olive with subtle iridescent markings, often developing beautiful blue-green highlights under reef lighting. As they mature, many individuals become even more striking in appearance.
Known for their constant grazing behavior, Scopas Tangs help control nuisance algae while adding movement and personality to the aquarium. They thrive in tanks with plenty of swimming space and live rock to explore. While generally peaceful with most reef-safe fish, they can be territorial toward other tangs, especially those with a similar body shape.
