Naso tang

The Naso Tang is one of the most elegant and recognizable surgeonfish in the marine aquarium hobby. With its sleek silver-gray body, vibrant orange facial markings, brilliant yellow highlights, and flowing tail streamers on mature males, this majestic species quickly becomes the centerpiece of any large reef aquarium.

Known for its calm personality and graceful swimming, the Naso Tang is generally one of the most peaceful tang species, making it an excellent addition to community reef tanks. Constantly cruising the aquarium, it helps graze nuisance algae while bringing nonstop movement and personality to the display.

Naso Tangs require plenty of open swimming space, pristine water quality, and a varied herbivore-based diet to thrive. Their intelligence and bold nature often lead them to recognize their owners and eagerly greet them at feeding time.
