Mystery Wrasse

The Mystery Wrasse is a striking and highly sought-after marine wrasse known for its incredible combination of purple, red and pink coloration, bright yellow facial markings and distinctive white bars. Its bold colours and curious personality make it an eye-catching addition to a well-established saltwater aquarium.

Mystery Wrasses spend much of their day exploring rockwork, caves and crevices in search of small crustaceans and other prey. They are intelligent, active fish with plenty of personality and often become one of the most noticeable characters in the aquarium.

They are considered reef safe with corals, but caution should be taken with small ornamental shrimp and other tiny crustaceans, which may eventually be viewed as food. Mystery Wrasses can also become territorial as they mature, particularly toward other wrasses or similarly shaped fish, so they are best introduced thoughtfully into the aquarium.

Provide plenty of live rock, caves and hiding places along with open swimming space. Like many wrasses, Mystery Wrasses are capable jumpers, so a securely covered aquarium is strongly recommended.

Feed a varied carnivorous diet consisting of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, chopped marine foods and high-quality frozen or prepared foods.
